Phase 3C of the Anne M. Lynch Homes at Old Colony has won the Phius Passive Projects Design Competition in the low-rise multifamily category at PhiusCon 2022!

 

The juried competition recognizes fully certified passive building projects of all types in all climate zones. In collaboration with Beacon Communities LLC and Boston Housing Authority, Phase 3C provides a completely affordable apartment community for seniors and those with disabilities. Fifty-five highly efficient, resilient, and accommodating units allow members of the community to age in place and continue to live within their community. Sustainability features include solar panels, high-efficiency LED lighting, low flow and high-efficiency plumbing fixtures, all within an air-tight envelope.

 

In 2022, Phase 3 Building C achieved LEED Gold Certification.

2020: Boston Housing Authority proposes construction of two affordable housing residential projects on the sites at 278 East 9th Street in South Boston. Development to be 105,000 square feet, comprising 115 one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom residential units in one four-story elevator building. Phase Three C will construct 51,000 square foot development comprising 55 one-bedroom units in a four-story building, with first floor resident service space for low-income seniors.
